Getting Down With the Yocals

Hello there,

Guess what we've been up to then!!! Ha ha ha, we have had much fun, as you can probably (hopefully) tell. The tale behind the photo's uploaded follows:

So firstly, meet Karen, Ian and Michael who are ex-pats living in Sydney and loving it still, after around 10 years. They took us on a fantastic day trip with Rich's parents down the coast to some beautiful beaches and have welcomed us to their home lots of times. It's nice to sleep in a real bed and eat with a real family all over again! They even have a dog, so you can imagine who was in heaven at this point......And they love English football, so we've spent many an evening in front of the old goggle box. Some people sleep and some people shout, depends on your genes.

Next, meet the possums! After wandering around the Botanic Gardens for the day we found these fellas running up and down trees, so we couldn't help but take a photo or 12. They were totally happy to be photographed. Shame we couldn't see anything through the camera as it was so dark. Still, excellent use of the flash and they didn't bat an eyelid. They did seem to want to take our camera with them, but we unfortunately couldn't repay their modelling favours!

Then as anyone who has been to Sydney or Melbourne knows, you just can't miss the Meet The Neighbours Quiz night! Many of you will know we can't miss the opportunity to quiz quiz quiz! So here is the evidence of rubbing shoulders with International Superstars! I would like to defend myself to say that we had been out in the sun all day and that explains the red face. I know we have reduced the old alcohol tolerance, but 2 schooners (around a pint and a bit) wasn't enough for me to glow like a glow worm on heat! It's all the sun.....! So, I am amused to see that we look incredibly happy on these photos, clearly this is what we came travelling for and happiness comes in the shape of a Toad(ie) (sorry!). Basically, they had a few questions at the beginning and then wandered around to chat, have photos and sign autographs (no we didn't and haven't, no pen!). Which was good of them cos I was wondering how we would approach the subject of the only reason we are here is for the evidence, without meaning to be rude! Rich was very upset that there were no beautiful blondes in sight, but to be fair although they were male, talent isn't in generous supply with the three men we got. Boyd is lovely and has a six pack (you'd love to know how we know but that's a secret!), but I think I may be old enough to be his mother, nearly! (No toyboy jokes required, thanks anyway!) Connor = drunk chav with gold chain in situ. Toadie = married (I know!!!), legend of all of our childhoods (ok University life) and not unlike my brother (try to guess which one!)! And Boyd = shy and 12! But altogether, they were absolutely lovely and were so friendly, I think that all your Mums would be happy if you brought them home (maybe not the boys!). And, Steph has a 16 year old son in real life, so we heard. How shocking is that! We also found out that Stingray's on set nickname is Sperm, but we don't know why..... at all....honest! But, rocket science I am sure it is not.....

So laugh at our pictures and tell all your mates, cos we'd recommend it to everyone. Maybe we're a little bit sad!! But who needs real neighbours if you can get home by half five and see these little lovelies in action!

If you are not singing the Neighbours theme tune to yourself for the rest of the day we have failed, so go on and be loud and proud!!!

Anyway, gotta run it's on at 6.30 here, so we might be home in time.....see ya!
